Travel

Getting there:

There are multiple ways to get to Arnhem. The closest airports are Schiphol, Eindhoven, and Düsseldorf in Germany. Arnhem is well connected to Germany in the west via the A12. The A50 goes in a South-North direction allowing access into Belgium or northern Germany. Arnhem is located along the main train route from the airport Schiphol to Germany. Trains are leaving Schiphol about every 30 min and a ride takes about 45 min. Further information about time table and costs is available on ov9292 . On this website you can also get information about local public transport within Arnhem.

Ground transport:

There will be a shuttle bus from selected hotels (information to follow) to Burger’s Zoo. We will announce more details about departure times later.

There are also public buses going to the zoo. The journey from the bus stop at the central train station to the zoo takes usually about 20 min, and busses are leaving about every 20 min. For more information see ov9292 . A single journey is about €1.70 with an ov-chipkaart. This is a multiple use ticket one can purchase before the first trip and then load with a certain amount of money. The correct fare is deducted when checking in and out on the bus. You can also buy other tickets on the bus but they are much more expensive.

If you come by car, there is parking available at the zoo. You need to buy a parking coin (€ 6.00) at the entrance in order to leave the parking area. This is not included in the registration fee. Please be aware that fees for wrong parking in the Netherlands can be very high and easily be beyond €100.00.
